Serge Roetheli
His latest project, RUNNING around will be his last one. But he has had a number of records under his belt since early 1970's. Besides having finished a serie of extreme long distance runs, the now 49 years old Swiss from Valais has also been Sixt Time Boxing Champion of Switzerland. Back in 1976 he had also been a selected Olympian during the games in Montreal. In 1982, the adventurer has hung his boxing gloves to commit his time to long distance running, competions, marathons, supermarathons, .... nothing stop him ! 1215 km of Alpine passes un just 24 days. Death Valley crossing. California Then, between 1989-1990, crossing of europe, 12 countries = 8'800 km ! The AMERICAN CHALLENGE has been Roethelis longest journey at 24'115 km, back between 1995-1997. This run took almost 3 years and has allowed them to be know in fundraising circles. 200'000.-- dollars have been raised for the Association François-Xavier Bagnoud who in turn has helped children in Colombia. Serge is an adventurer who loves nature. Trekking, skiing, climbing (Mount Mc Kinley, and he's a mountain-guide in the Alps) bike trips and canoe journeys.  |
